Actor Don Detained in Connection with Salman Shah Case Investigation

Law enforcement authorities have apprehended popular character actor Ashraful Haque, widely known as Don, in connection with the ongoing investigation into the death of film star Salman Shah. The arrest took place this Sunday, August 9, at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, after which the actor was transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the police for further processing.

The death of Salman Shah, whose body was discovered under mysterious circumstances on September 6, 1996, has remained a subject of intense public debate for decades. To revitalize the investigation, the actor’s uncle, Alamgir Kumkum, filed a formal murder case at the Ramna Police Station. The legal complaint names 11 individuals as suspects, including the actor’s former wife, Samira Haque, and Don.

The family of the late star has long maintained that the incident was a premeditated act that was deliberately obscured from the beginning. Salman Shah’s mother, Neela Chowdhury, has consistently alleged that when the family initially attempted to file a murder case, police instead registered the incident as an unnatural death.

Salman Shah, who entered the film industry in the early 1990s, achieved immense popularity by starring in 27 commercially successful films within a brief four-year career. With the recent detention of a key suspect and the renewed focus on the case, fans and well-wishers are hopeful that the truth behind this high-profile mystery may finally be uncovered.
