AC Milan kicked off their pre-season training today at the Milanello facility, marking the first session under new head coach Ruben Amorim. The event drew fans eager to witness the team's tactical evolution, with RedBird patron Gerry Cardinale also in attendance, arriving and departing by helicopter.
While it was widely anticipated that the Rossoneri would adopt a 3-4-2-1 formation, the training session revealed a notable tactical adjustment. Samuel Chukwueze, traditionally an attacking winger on the right flank, was deployed in a deeper role on the right side of a four-man midfield. This tactical decision mirrors a role previously utilized by Amorim for Amad Diallo during his time at Manchester United.
Chukwueze, who spent last season on loan at Fulham where he recorded three goals and four assists across 25 appearances, could have been expected to play as one of the support strikers. However, the new setup places him further back in the pitch. During the session, the squad also saw young talent Andrej Kostic net the first goal of the pre-season.
