Cagliari have officially bolstered their midfield with the acquisition of Jacopo Fazzini from Fiorentina. The deal sees the player join the Sardinian side on loan for the remainder of the season, with an option to make the transfer permanent for a total fee of €8 million.
The Sardinians are very active on the transfer market this summer after securing their coach Fabio Pisacane to a new and improved contract. Fazzini arrived at the airport today to finalize the move, where he was welcomed by supporters and media before proceeding to undergo his medical examinations. The Italian midfielder, who originally developed through the Empoli youth academy, had moved to Fiorentina in the summer of 2025 for €9.3 million. However, he struggled to secure a regular spot in the squad following the arrival of coach Paolo Vanoli as a replacement for Stefano Pioli, and he remained outside the plans of manager Fabio Grosso.
Both Fazzini and Winks landed at the airport today, where they were greeted by media and supporters, then went to complete their medical tests. This signing marks a period of significant activity for Cagliari, who recently secured head coach Fabio Pisacane to a new, improved contract. Beyond Fazzini, the club is also expected to welcome Leicester City midfielder Harry Winks, who arrived alongside Fazzini today to complete his own transition to the team.
