Prime Minister Tarek Rahman has stated that a specific group is actively engaged in a calculated effort to destabilize the nation's power and energy sectors. According to the Prime Minister, this group is spreading misleading information as part of a strategy to undermine the government's efforts to address ongoing challenges.
Addressing the current situation, the Prime Minister acknowledged the hardships faced by citizens regarding electricity and gas supplies. He emphasized that these issues are the direct result of poorly planned projects and policies from the past that were designed to benefit a specific circle rather than the public. The current administration, he noted, is now bearing the consequences of these inherited systemic failures while working to restore stability to a country that was left in a fragile state.
Highlighting the broader recovery efforts, the Prime Minister stated that the government is working to revitalize the nation across all sectors, including the economy, administration, education, and healthcare. Plans are underway to improve rural healthcare, including the recruitment of one hundred thousand health workers, the implementation of an e-health card system, and the upgrading of upazila hospitals to 101-bed facilities.
Regarding the involvement of teachers in politics, the Prime Minister remarked that in a democratic state, political ideology influences many aspects of life. While he stated it is not unreasonable for students, teachers, or professionals to remain ideologically organized, he stressed that such political involvement must never interfere with their primary professional responsibilities. He further noted a strong, widespread demand across Bangladesh, particularly following the events of August 5, for a qualitative shift in politics that moves beyond traditional practices.
